Impact & Responsibility

Design for everyone, not just for many

Products that are not accessible create frustration, risks, and exclusion. Products designed to be barrier-free build trust, clarity, and sustainable usage. For us, accessibility isn't extra effort – it's a quality standard, especially in sensitive usage contexts.

"Experience means responsibility—and that begins with accessibility."

Our mindset

For people, not for data points

Accessibility begins with a mindset and ends with implementation. It encompasses more than just contrasts and keyboard navigation. We design digital products that are robust, understandable, navigable, and inclusive – based on WCAG, EN 301 549, and practical project experience.

Accessible. Understandable. Inclusive.

BFSG and WCAG

Legal requirements for digital accessibility

The BFSG is a German law that has required companies to ensure digital accessibility since June 2025. The WCAG are international technical guidelines that define how accessibility is implemented in practice. Simply put: the BFSG says "you must be accessible," while the WCAG says "this is how you do it." The BFSG refers to WCAG 2.1 Level AA as the technical standard—anyone who is WCAG-compliant meets the legal requirements of the BFSG.

What Accessibility Enables

Create access

Making digital offerings usable – for people, with or without disabilities

Maximizing Audience

Reach more people, reach new target groups, meet international standards

Strengthening Legal Compliance

Whether it's WCAG, EN 301 549 or the EU Accessibility Act – compliance reduces risks and increases acceptance

Increase satisfaction

Comprehensibility, orientation and clarity for everyone – from the first click

Protect investments

Designing for the future instead of making improvements – what is barrier free remains relevant for longer

Enable innovation

Inclusive requirements lead to better solutions – for all users.

Our approach

Accessibility doesn't belong at the end. It belongs at the beginning.

We integrate accessibility from the very first idea to the final rollout. Our methods adapt flexibly to your goals – and systematically guide you through every lifecycle step:

Digital future

Why UseTree,
when it comes to accessibility

Digital products must be usable by everyone.
Not as an add-on, but as a fundamental part of good UX.

For us, accessibility is not just a checklist or a matter of compliance.
It determines whether people can participate or are excluded.

We integrate accessibility into responsible product development. UseTree provides systematic support to help you achieve BFSG compliance and sustainable digital accessibility:

What we do

  • WCAG 2.1/2.2 accessibility audit: Assessing your website, app, or digital application for compliance with WCAG standards and BFSG requirements
  • Detailed audit report: Documentation of barriers including severity classification, WCAG criteria, and specific locations
  • Prioritized action plan: Clear recommendations for your development team, sorted by urgency (critical Level A violations first)
  • Accessibility statement: Drafting the legally required documentation for your website
  • Long-term support: Regular audits and continuous optimization to ensure your digital products remain accessible in the long term

Dont's

""

What we don't do

  • No superficial color contrast fixing
  • No WCAG audits without context
  • No testing without real people
  • No “compliance theater” for badges

Our conclusion

Digital accessibility in accordance with the BFSG and WCAG is not just an exercise; it is a responsibility. Since June 2025, the European Accessibility Act (BFSG) has required companies to comply with WCAG 2.1 Level AA standards. Taking action now protects you from fines, helps you reach more people, and ensures your products work for everyone.

UseTree combines accessibility audits with strategic UX consulting. We don't just check for compliance; we design digital experiences that are inclusive, intuitive, and future-proof. The result: products that reach a wider audience and deliver lasting value.

Good accessibility leaves no one behind. It improves the experience for everyone.
